Based on a year-end report recently released by OpenTable, Founding Farmers takes the top spot again – for a remarkable six-time win.
Since its 2008 opening, the Founding Farmers DC brand of scratch-made food and drink has grown to include, four moreFounding Farmers outposts – in Potomac, MD; King of Prussia, PA; Reston, VA; and Tysons, VA – as well as two siblings, Farmers Fishers Bakers and Farmers & Distillers, which houses their proprietary distillery, Founding Spirits, recently named the Official Distillery for DC’s Capital One Arena.
Co-owned by the North Dakota Farmers Union, a collective of 47,000 American family farmers, Founding Farmers Co-Owner, Dan Simons, says of their success, “I attribute that to the culture and heart & soul of the team,” he says.
“We have always put our mission over profit,” he continues. “Our mission is advocating on behalf of farmers, but also caring for our staff and understanding that the planet and employees are stakeholders in our business.”
