Building a beer program that speaks to and fits within your brand, clientele, and food offerings, is a great way to enliven and add interest to your bar service.
Guiding clients and generating beer bar ideas that fit within the individual brand, is just one reason we love doing what we do. Working directly with clients on bar management, operations, and consulting projects to put forth our best bar business principals is one of our foundational processes. Getting it right is crucial. A great bar can be a true profitability standout for a restaurant’s bottom line.
In our opinion, a great bar houses a great beer program.
We recently had the opportunity to work with the talented team at client, Farmers Restaurant Group (FRG), to help craft a company-wide beer program. Their focus was two-fold:
- To create a beer program sourcing from other sustainably minded, high-quality brands
- To appeal to all tastes. Mission accomplished. They buy from trusted partners such as Devils Backbone and Flying Dog, as well as from new friends at Sierra Nevada, Jailbreak, Goose Island, Victory, Great Lakes, and Estrella Jalisco. With beers ranging from approximately $8 to $10 per glass, the program is designed for easy navigation and sampling, and is styled from light to bold, lagers and ales, for broad appeal.
It’s a labor of love for the FRG team. From bar master, Jon Arroyo, to Director of Food & Beverage, Training Operations, Rachel Vistica, to Assistant Beer Director & Bar Manager, Melinda Koepke, and the entire beverage team, their knowledge and excitement for their bar & beverage offerings inspired us to share their beer program story to inspire those looking to craft their own beer programs.
With a targeted restaurant beer program such as this, you and your bar team can create long-term partnerships with key vendors, introduce local craft brews (and breweries) to patrons through sampling, packaging select beer flights, pairing with food items, and even creating pop-up events & tastings with local brewers to garner interest for both of your businesses. Cheers!
