A Sister Restaurant is Thoughtfully Created in Order to Expand Upon the Success of the Celebrated Founding Farmers Group of Restaurants
Founding Farmers Tysons (FFT) is the next book in the Founding Farmers series. Located in Tysons, VA, this 12,000 square foot restaurant is the third location for the successful Founding Farmers brand – one we are proud to have conceptualized and developed from the start.
From brand identity and food & menu development, including a full-service bar & beverage program, to interior design and business management to marketing + PR strategies and recruiting services, our team is the driving force behind FFT. As we ventured through the planning, strategy, and development process we worked closely with industry experts in design, architecture, development, and beyond in order to bring our collective vision for FFT to life: a modern, Virginia farmhouse setting, complete with “micro-climates” modeled after traditional farmhouse living and dining areas.
The Food. Our culinary team created a diverse menu that not only reflects the Founding Farmers’ brand of favorites (i.e. freshly prepared dishes, scratch made beverages), but also features direct-from-Virginia food products like artisanal honey glazed hams and Rappahannock River oysters prepared three ways (raw, shooters with optional liquor chasers or baked). Also available: fresh butchered cuts of meat (direct from FFT’s in-house butcher’s studio) and freshly baked Southern-style biscuits and other pastry items unique to FFT served with house-churned butter.
The Bar. An expansive, U-shaped, 28-seat bar, featuring a variety of Virginia-made products such as Founding Farmers From Farm to Still™ proprietary lines of Rye Whisky and Gin, a selection of locally sourced wines and spirits, and 12 beer taps pouring only Virginia brewed beers, awaits each FFT guest. The bar & beverage team also developed a process to brew sun tea, a perennial Virginia favorite, using natural sunlight and grow light technology on cloudy days. Large mason jars of tea are showcased (and steeped) on shelves in the full-height, North-facing windows of the ’Sun Porch’ area of the restaurant. Also available, the first restaurant-developed cold pressed juice program, which includes the Farm Health Cleanse, a healthy alternative meal option.
The Space. Speaks to the modern, farmhouse feel: sectioned areas, high-backed upholstered chairs, and luxurious circular booths are designed to perfectly suit guests as they gather, eat, socialize, and enjoy. Unique design elements include interesting and whimsical installations and commissioned artworks by emerging and established artists (including works by local artists) such as hand-whittled, cute critters (like a charming duck and an adorable, larger-than-life baby black bear), farm scene vignettes, a quilted colonial flag, a large, golden family tree sculpture, and even a classic phone closet for guests to take or make calls in private.
Founding Farmers Tysons is the ultimate evolution of the brand as it increases the Farmers Restaurant Group and Founding Farmers footprint from the DC-metro area into the great state of Virginia. The restaurant is ideally situated in the heart of the burgeoning metropolis of Tysons, and is poised to witness ongoing development and growth of the surrounding residential and mixed-use properties, adding to the restaurant’s guest base and market popularity.
