Jill Gardner knows a thing or two about the meaning of “trial by fire.” As a college sophomore, while studying Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Jill took an entry-level position as an HR assistant hoping to learn about the recruiting industry. And, did she ever. The day after she started, the director of HR suddenly resigned and instead of filling that position, Jill assumed that role… complete with a staff of 500… as a sophomore in college. Once we heard that story, we knew she would be a great fit for our dynamic VSAG team.
With that professional initiation successfully under her belt, after graduation she focused her career trajectory on the restaurant and hospitality industry. Working as a recruiter for both restaurant companies and luxury hotel brands, she has staffed new restaurants, filled salaried positions from restaurant crews to managerial teams to corporate level jobs, and staffed hotel teams from the ground up.
Jill brings VSAG her special brand of tenacity, remarkable experience, and dedication to finding the right person for the job. Likening the business of recruiting to “professional match making,” Jill has found her success in helping candidates find a position within a company that is the right fit for them. Making that connection, and seeing it work for both parties, is her biggest professional reward.
When not working hard to find the best candidates for positions within our client’s teams, Jill can be found happily cheering on her children’s youth sports teams from the sidelines.
