He led The Cheesecake Factory from two units, through an IPO, and into a national powerhouse esteemed throughout the restaurant industry. As Chief Operating Officer at eatZi’s Market & Bakery, he worked with founder Phil Romano and president Lane Cardwell to grow the operation from $6M to $60M.
Home meal replacement was brand new territory and Michael’s innovations and expertise brought average unit sales volumes beyond $14 million per year. More recently, as Chief Operating Officer of Copeland’s Restaurant, Michael re-engineered the company and created new concepts, one of which is the award-winning Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro. The Bistro delivers average unit volumes of $5 million per year. Michael designed every aspect of the concept and directed the creation of the systems and procedures that formed the foundation of this new and exciting restaurant.
