VSAG is dedicated to the shared belief that sustainability is a critical component of most successful restaurants today. Through commitment and education, restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities and other food-service operations can begin to give more than they take. For your community. For your guests. For your bottom line. If you are passionate about supporting your community and your planet, let VSAG help you reach your goals so that you earn recognition and attention for your efforts from your patrons.
VSAG offers a full suite of services from organic, sustainable menu design and development to full green/LEED concept development services, including brand, design and day-to-day operating systems and restaurant services. We are adept at developing plans to help your operation consume less water and less energy and reduce waste. We understand the nuances of hiring specific LEED consultants and utilizing the services of the Green Restaurant Association. Our restaurant consultants will educate you how to use safer cleaners and source organic, sustainable ingredients and green products, and we advise you on the details, pitfalls and financial/operational challenges of going green. To ensure that others see and appreciate your endeavors, we create and launch aggressive marketing plans, including access to our staff of public relations experts.
VSAG understands the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system and has helped clients fulfill their sustainability and green building goals. Most recently, VSAG developed, opened and currently manages one of the first LEED Gold (U.S. Green Building Council), and Certified Green Restaurants (Green Restaurant Association) in the country, Founding Farmers, in Washington, D.C.
We are proud to have established the industry’s first organization dedicated to the promotion and best practices for LEED food and beverage projects. LEAF is the Leaders in Eco-hospitality Advocacy Foundation. This nonprofit networking/educational industry group has been formed for restaurant/hospitality-only members that either own or operate LEED certified restaurants, retail establishments or hotels.
The group encourages and shares best practices, resources, ideas and insights to achieving excellence in LEED hospitality projects — with lots of practical and experience sharing along the way. Members of LEAF are positioned as topic experts for the rest of the industry, for the media and for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) itself, with participation at conferences, seminars, educational gatherings and private events.
The LEAF organization and its members will strive to positively impact and share the efforts of the USGBC and to positively contribute to bringing on new members and businesses in the hospitality community to achieve LEED certification and increase the number of these projects across the U.S. LEAF's website will be launching soon.
