Turnaround of a Failing Concept
With the international success of Founding Farmers restaurant in Washington, D.C., VSAG was brought in by the same owners to revitalize Agraria, an upscale restaurant that had lost its identity in a difficult location. After five months of restaurant consulting including complete concept and restaurant business plans redevelopment, interior renovation, rebranding and repositioning, Farmers & amp; Fishers emerged as an extension of the Founding Farmers brand.
The restaurant's menus were developed to reflect a more relaxed approach to sustainable agriculture, with regional coastal cooking as the central focus, not to mention D.C.'s only true Tiki cocktail menu, each drink prepared by hand. These restaurant services created a buzz. With more than 12,000 s.f. of space, the restaurant's private-dining capabilities were heavily marketed in the repositioning, and Farmers & Fishers was on track to double its sales over the previous year.
