Turnaround of a Failing Concept
With the international success of Founding Farmers restaurant in Washington, DC, VSAG was brought in by the same owners to revitalize an upscale restaurant in a difficult location that had lost its identity. Agraria Farmers & Fishers emerged after 5 quick months of complete concept development, a interior renovation, rebranding and repositioning as an extension of the Farmers brand across town.
The menus were developed to reflect a more relaxed approach to sustainable agriculture, with regional coastal cooking the central focus, but not a limiting factor to easy to enjoy foods and DC’s only true Tiki-cocktail menu, each drink prepared by hand. With more than 12,000 sf of space, the private dining capabilities of the restaurant were heavily marketed in the repositioning, on track to double sales figures over the previous year.
